It's a funny thing when you have lived through a trend (or trends) only to see it resurface years later with a modern twist. Yes, what was once old will always be new again, but when the items at hand were tightly woven into your younger style identity, it's a trip to witness their second ascent.

So this fall we are keeping it classic with timeless pieces we will wear again and again, styles be damned. More vintage and consigned, less of the moment one hit wonders. More thoughtfully produced fashion that will last for years to come, fewer impulse buys that work for one season. We'll start with one of everything below and build from there, with the exception of the shoes - for those, we'll take two.

Dear Scorpio: You may feel a little antsy this month. You have tasks, plans, ideas, and missions - but every time you get ready to set off, you also realize you need one more thing. A Day In The Life Of Local Politician Kirsten Harris-Talley

"I will say at the intersection of being a woman and black, the amount of expectation and exceptionalism—we should not be burning ourselves out. Folks expect that, but we can reject that—we can say no and take care of ourselves better. I am still working on this, in a collective in activism, you don’t have to hold everything.
