Here are five key astrological alignments that thread themselves through April. For each, we’ve shared an intention, as well as the opportunities and challenges that they may inspire. The date noted is when the celestial event occurs, yet its influence may be felt days before and after.

April 2: Mars/Saturn Conjunction
Forge Ahead Cautiously

Go slow and be thoughtful. Remember that Rome wasn’t built in a day, and the same goes for the things you’re working on. Honor sustainability and let it be your compass. Be aware of your reactions if you feel frustrated, gaining a better understanding of your relationship with anger.

April 15: Aries New Moon + Mercury Retrograde Ends
Begin Anew

It’s a time of new beginnings, of fighting for what we desire and what lights us up. Look to communication lessons learned in the past several weeks to assess how to best move a message forward. Don’t be surprised by surprises. Watch for explosive energy, and so that momentum doesn’t just rocket you forward aimlessly, be mindful of what you want to say and do.

April 17: Saturn Stations Retrograde
Understand What’s Integral

Survey foundations to identify weaknesses that need bolstering. Honor time, seeing it as an ingredient of creativity. Consider the value of following the rules and coloring in the lines. Learn from your elders. See where less may be more.

April 22: Pluto Stations Retrograde
Uncover Hidden Riches

Watch for power struggles. Dig deep and embrace your shadow. Consider what buried treasures are ready to be discovered. Recognize what’s reached its expiration date and needs to be removed or released so that new growth can emerge. Remember that we may not have control, but we do have choices about how we respond to what we cannot control.

We are acknowledging this month that, like the calendar year, we also go through "seasons" of preferences--particularly when it comes to reading. While in the summers we crave lighter, airier works of fiction to the deep, enthralling stores that move us in the winter, for the month of February we are focusing on 3 memoirs that are perfect for hunkering down and fighting the cold.

What the Heck is Wellness, Anyway?

As inflated with trends and fads as the wellness industry has become, that saturation has inadvertently caused a lot of confusion around what wellness is. Whether it's a daily exercise regimen, clean eating or simply being more present, we are taking a moment to acknowledge that wellness is an ever-evolving, fluid phenomenon that means something different to everyone.
